I posted this over at the Hide as well but here you go in cause anyone is interested. It took me 15hours of sanding, grinding, and bedding to get to this point. Since the project for my airgun with a B&C stock went good I decided to try it with my ruger 77/22. I fully bedded it with marine tex, free floated the barrel, and textured the stock with marine tex. I also took about 5mm off the top of the whole stock to better fit the action. So far it turned out pretty good. I am not amazing with a dremal so I still have some cosmetic areas to touch up with marine tex because my shakey hand cut a little too much out but here it is unpainted. Looks great maybe i should have went that route but i'm still waiting on my boyds thumb hole, I got all my metal work done and painted what B&C stock did you use a remington 700 or other, Did you fill in the action then grind it to fit the 77/22 action well tell us how it shoots and good lookin rifle |

Don't know how it shoots yet... Taking it out this weekend to mess around with it. I used a 700Short action stock. I am not that good with a dremal so I carved it out then used marine tex to fill in the spaces exactually to the action. Here are a couple shots of it painted.

Yea I need to try some other ammo in it but with the wood stock it was in the barrel touched the stock. I the best I got was 1.5moa at 100yards with average of 2.5moa at 100 yards. I am hoping this will keep her around 1.5moa solid. I have been using Federal match stuff that goes about 1200fps. I just hope the feel of this will match my Mcmillan a5 that I have coming for my 700p, or at least close to the feel. |
