Hey guys, I don't know a whole lot about the 10/22's.  I shoot AR's for the most part.  I have an AAC Ranger that I'd like to put on my Dad's old 10/22.  My local gun shop has tactical solution's bbls that will get me taken care of.

The 10/22 in question has the bbl band (carbine version).  Is that going to give me problems?  It looks like the band is just cosmetic not functional but mabey y'all can help me out here.  Also, I assume that I will need to sand down the inside of the  stock..

you guidence pls...

You are right. The TacSol barrel is a bull and will not fir the stock without sanding the channel out. The barrel band is cosmetic. I have a 16" factory barrel in a BC folder and I ground the band out at the top to where I can see daylight through it. It has no contact with the barrel. The rifle shoots much tighter groups without the contact of the band. I just liked the way it looked on the BC folder.  I also put a sling stud on the band so it had to stay.
I really like the TacSol barrel. I mounted mine on a Hogue over molded stock. I'd be willing to bet the whole rifle doesn't weight more than 3.5 lbs.

Dont bother with trying to widen the factory channel, just buy a .920 diameter stock.  There are tons out there to choose from and most can be had for  under $100.  IMO having a $150+ barrel on a "sanded out" factory stock with a barrel band is a waste of money.  The $70 or so a new Hogue stock will cost you is well worth it when upgrading these guns.  Best of luck and post some pictures when its all said and done whichever way you choose to go.

I have a Tac-Sol setup on my 10/22, with a Hogue stock and AAC can.
Seems like one of these will fit your purposes better...HERE

Love my hogue stock and tactical solutions barrel.  SHoots very well.  And a lot cheaper as well.  I also shot my AR's a lot, but now I shoot my 10/22 at least ONCE a day.

Same here. I can't afford to shoot my AR's and AK's as much. I bought 2 10/22's. One used and I put a TacSol barrel and Hogue OM stock on. Added a 3x9 scope. Accurate light weight rifle. The other is a factory 16" I put in a BC folder and added Tech Sights to it. So far on it I free floated the barrel, added a little bedding to the stock, ground out the barrel band so it does'nt touch the barrel and added buffers to both. The folder has really tightened up with a little work.
I've really enjoyed shooting these .22's. 1100 rounds of ammo cost me $20.00. I just set on my centerfire ammo.
