new member to the 10/22 addiction. The fun store i work at recently had a fire, so we've been going through the fire victim pile, cleaning and selling what we can. I picked up a little carbine real CHEAP.. got it home, tore it apart, cleaned and oiled the bolt, used 0000 steel wool and hoppes on the barrel to get the rust off. It needs to be refinished, but it's only a matter of time before i get a bull for it. For now it's gonna be a plinker/fun gun. As funds allow i will change and add things i want. I'll get some pics up later. I haven't shot it yet, but cycled a few rounds through it without it jamming. We'll see how it runs when i get it back to the range.

no one was injured..fire started around 2:30 a.m. lost a lot of merchandise...a lot of old Winchester lever actions that can't be replaced. Insurance took care of most everything..but like the old lever guns and Single Actions..money can't replace everything. We are rebuilding and should have the main store front completed by September. We are working out of the old classroom area and the firing range was not hurt.

I've got the stocks sanded on the 10/22, need to go back over it again, ran out of sandpaper. i think i want to keep the classic look to it. maybe replace the fire damaged barrel with a factory one.
