To remove the barrel, do I just need to undo those allen screws and unscrew the barrel?

Just the reverse for install?

I'm getting a Tactical Solutions threaded 10/22 .920 barrel and replacing the stock with a Hogue.  Will I still need the barrel band from the original stock?

Yes, just unscrew the allens.  Barrel isn't screwed in; just pulls out with a little twisting action.  You won't use the barrel band with the new barrel, but don't throw it away.  Even if you never use it again, they are easy to sell because they are easily broken!

Cheers.

I was going to sell the barrel and stock to help fund all of the upgrades.

I saw on Tactical Solutions' webpage that their barrel shanks are oversized.  What does it take to turn one down?

Yep, I broke my barrel band getting my factory barrel off.  It went "ping" like a M1 Garand clip ejecting and hit the floor.

On barrel installation, the only tricky part is making sure you line up the extractor notch correctly.  It's not that hard; just try to center it in the notch if possible.
