I have one of the rifles like the camo one, but it still wears the original barrel. Why did you swap yours out? I'm just curious. I also have the Buckmark 7.5" heavy barreled pistol which has had the front sight relocated rearward to make room for threading. Woody |
Tha factory carbon fiber barrel that is OEM for the camo version commonly lacks accuracy. (A few individuals have improved them by lapping the barrel.) Browning service techs openly admit lackluster quality control in these barrels. Tactical Solutions did a small trial run of these prototypes, with many of them going to Browning employees I'm told. Tom at Tactical Sol. was kind enough to offer a few to the public by a small mention on another forum. I accepted. He may still have a few left. I heard mention the other day of someone else who had ordered one and they are now awaiting delivery. Dunno if they will become part of the formal Tactical Sol. product line or not. Last time I talked to Tom he wasn't sure if he had time to do them on top of the other products/workload. |
Any way to get you to give Tom a shout and see if there are any left? And what's the procedure for swapping a barrel on the Buckmark? I never paid attention to it. Looking at the TS website, I see a barrel for my next 10/22 buildup, though.... Woody |

There are a few barrels left! I took my Buckmark to the Arfcom Survival forum campout in WV 2 weeks ago and the pics in the AAR thread caused a stir as we were shooting it with a suppressor. LOTS of interest, so I wrote to Tom and he replied that there were a few unanodized barrels left, so people could get them in any flavor they wanted. Until a month ago, I had been using the rifle as a dedicated night gun as the LOP and sight axis with a Meprolight 21 reflex sight is the perfect distance and height for shooting with PVS7 night vision goggles. On a trip to Cabela's a Shepherd Scope with a .22 BDC (!) followed me home and I was recently able to get some accuracy testing done. The barrel ROCKS with Wolf ammo, .300 groups at 50 yards being fairly easy, and 1.5" at 100 yards. That's damn good. I kinda want to put the reflex sight back on it though as I have never had luck small game hunting with a scoped .22. The Buckmark with a cheapy red-dot or the Meprolight is like a Squirrel Rail-Gun. Sure. Tom is a very approachable guy, and damned fun to talk to too. Holler if you want me too, but I'm sure you'd enjoy talking to him yourself. (every time I call, we end up BSing way too long) Installation is nearly identical to your 10/22. Black or green were the two color choices, though the company offers many colors for the other products...... so waiting may pay off if the BM carbine barrel gets added to the lineup. You can also get the barrel with or without threads, (1/2X28), and or muzzle brake/thread protector cap. Let me know, and I'll be happy to make the call. |
Hell yeah! I'm not picky with about the color, although the black would be closer to stock. And to have it threaded 1/2 x 28 RH would be perfect for my suppressor. I'd greatly appreciate it! Woody |

OK, I just spoke with Tom, and as usual, I enjoyed every minute of it..... helluva good guy! Anyhow, there are 12 left, unanodized as mentioned above. He is going to send them out this week for anodizing, and they will return in black or green, since those have been the only colors requested so far. They will be ready for shipping in approx. two weeks. $200 for conventional muzzle, and $240 with threaded barrel and brake, (& thread protector/cap). Brake and cap are anodized to match.
