I like the carbine myself. I know there are plenty of stock options for it. I got mine in the stainless finish. Been very happy with it.

Depends on what your going to do with it. If your going to change over to a bull barrel,  BR stock, and a fancy trigger group, then there's no need to pay the extra for the rifle. New carbines run ~$160. at wallyworld, Big5, or Oshman's, and used even cheaper.

Check out Rimfire Central for more ideas.

As far as which one has more aftermarket stuff, the answer is both. They are the exact same gun, one just has a longer barrel and stock than the other.

I have a stainless carbine with the factory black synthetic stock, it's pretty cool but I plan on replacing the barrel with a stainless fluted one and getting a thumbhole Fajan laminated one.

Just got my 10/22 this afternoon. Took the barrel and stock off in the store and sold it back to the guy for $80.  Which got me the reciever for $85.  Not a bad deal.  The other customers thought I was pretty nuts.

Got some CCI Stingers to put through the GM barrel when it gets here next week. wee
