I just picked up a 10//22 this afternoon. I can already tell that I will want to change the bolt lock and get an extended mag release.

Does anyone make a kit that I can install that will allow me just simply pull back on the bolt and have it slide forward again without this cumbersome tab?

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

You can modify the tab yourself.  If you take it out you will see a heart-shaped hole.  Simply file off the point making it a triangle shaped hole and you are good to go.  Look at a picture of the Volq. part vs. yours for reference.

You still have to push the tab in to lock the bolt back, but to release it you just have to pull the bolt back and let go.

Volquartsen makes good stuff from what I've heard.  The best prices I've found overall for their stuff is at www.rimfiresports.com.  Check them out and see what you can find.

After the last shot the bolt DOES NOT lock back. Is it supposed to?

No.

There is a kit available to lock the bolt back on the last shot.  Needs special modified mags though and IIRC they were pretty expensive.  I'll try to find it and link it.
