[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Building a Ruger 10/22

I have seen many acessories for sale on various web sites and I was curious has anyone in here ever built a 10/22 from scratch? If so what part should be bought from an FFL dealer? Is it the Upper reciever assembly?

So far I have found two related links. Cabelas and Rimfire sports, Are there any more?

Here's mine... bought a used receiver with factory bolt and trigger group. Added PC Action Kit components, Hogue stock, Magnum Research Carbon Fiber barrel, and Tasco Optima2000. Extremely light and fun to shoot!

I almost did. I received a 10/22 as a gift. The only original piece left is the receiver housing (which I really want to replace). I went with the KIDD two-stage trigger, volquartzen bolt, volquartzen THM carbon fiber barrel/cantilever scope mount, and an inletted, Boyd unfinished laminated thumbhole stock.
