1.  Are 10/22 magazines compatible with 77/22's?

2.  What's the best brand for hi-caps for either model?

TIA

I don't think they are compatible.

Butler Creek are good mags for 10/22.

Recently I heard of Condor mags. Supposedly they are very good but very rare.

Actually you can interchange these two magazines.

But....the base contour is different. The bottom of the 10/22 mag is curved and the bottom of the 77/22 mag is flat. They will lock up and feed fine in the other rifle, but there may/will be some asthetic issues.

I use 10/22 mags in my 77/22. They work flawlessly. I usually find the factory mags cheap enough that I just pick them up used in differnt places. However I would second the butler creek suggestion. I have used some of them and they work pretty well.

I would have to put in a thrid vote for the butler creek hi-caps. Thay make both the hot-lips version(red plastic feed lips) and a steel feed lips version. The steel feed lips version seem to be more rare the than the plastic feed lips. I only have the plastic feed lips one and they have worked fine for me.. I have no experience with the butler creek steel lips mags.. I have tried the condor mags these have steel lips also, these mags I had all kinda of problems with failure to feed and extract...Sorry for the long post and any spelling errors, it has been a LONG week.. good luck...
