This evening I decided to shoot a little bit to get my mind off of a lot of the things that are going on in my life right now, and Alas another stress, My Marlin!

Well, I started out just checking my zero on the 3-7x Tasco that I have mounted on it, it shot very well for the Remington "Golden Bullet" hollow points I was feeding it. I had several groups where they all touched at 40-50 yards. So I decided to move on and practice some off-hand shooting. I didn't expect much because I hadn't shot in a while, but I did much better then I expected. Then as I was shooting a group standing I got a FTE, it has done this a couple times and I think it may be the recoil spring. First let me describe the problem, well the problem is the case isn't being thrown free before the next round is shoved in and the bolt smashes the case but the round is almost completely seated in the chamber and the case is almost clear of the bolt.

Now what I suspect, last year when I was cleaning the rifle I didn't have the little pin seatedcompletely inside the recoil spring and it pinched the spring and bent it in half, it still has a tiny little kink in it but I got it straightened out for the most part, do you think this could be causing the problems?

Now for another annoyance. Well I don't use the iron sights and the front site base has developed a nice wobble in it, it's actually pretty damn lose. I can hear metal against metal if I shake the rifle. There is no screw that I see to tighten so I have no idea how I could tighten this up, looks like it might be the job for a smith, if that is the case I'll say screw it Anyone have any advice?

Other then these two things the rifle has performed flawlessly, with very good accuracy, I remember zeroing te 4x Tasco and finding one ragged whole with some CCI's from a Mini Mag. Today I had three leaf clovers with Remington Golden Bullets under low-light conditions. I'm very happy with this rifle.

Yeah I posted it here first, then was reading through another post on this board, and realized that Marlintalk would of been a little better. I detailed the rifle last night but never got a chance to shoot it.  I also fixed the front sight, just had to tap the front post out and tighten the screw. Thanks for all over the help on Marlin Talk

No problem man! I actually started out on MarlinTalk and found this site a year or so ago, love em both.
