[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Plano Field Locker Case

Im looking at getting a new case for my AR15 and 870.
I currently have a 56" All Weather Case by Plano, and it is too big for my car.
My question is, with the added ~1" of depth to the case can i place two long guns on top of each other?
Meaning an arrangement similar to a soft case with the dividing sleeve in the middle.
