| Howdy. I have three opportunity to purchase a slightly used ops core bump helmet. Guy wants 95$. I see that they are going for around 270 new. Good purchase? Can you use over the head ear pro with them or are they exclusivly for behind the head. Thanks |

Well I met up with him and it wasn't an ops core. I noticed the made in china sticker that was partially torn off and there were no logos on it. I inquired about it and he gave me the puzzled look. Said he never mentioned it was an ops core. I looked at the ad and it didn't say it. I could have sworn 100% that it did. That's how I searched for the price. I am pretty sure he changed the title of the ad but I can't prove it.
Oh well. Thanks everyone. |

The Emerson OPs-Core clone is actually a decent bump helmet. You won't get the street cred of having a real deal OpsCore but they get the job done and all the OPSCORE accessories and parts fit it if you want to upgrade. I have a clone of the OPSCORE "Carbon" sitting on my shelf right here (has the oblong holes and bolt on NVG shroud) and it gets the job done. All I've had to upgrade so far is the velcro on some parts of the helmet.
However I wouldn't pay that much for a used one. New ones are cheaper than that. http://www.evike.com/products/37346/ http://www.evike.com/products/38696/ |

Not to steer you from ops core, but if you want a "real" helmet without ops core money, check these top 3 out. Pro Tec makes my snowboard helmet and its quality. No boa fit though, which i like. Contemplating one of these for my newly acquired NV.

I knew they were making the older PT-Bravo helmets but they have a lack of info on the "Advanced tactical Helmet". Which considering the price and the looks is probably the Emerson clone. |

I wonder if it'd at least be appropriate to wear for rafting or whatnot. |

I've used my Emerson clone for exploring old mines and have whacked my head really hard a few times getting though tight spots and it's worked fine. It's not going to stop a bullet but it'll protect the noggin' from hard knocks. |

The first is a clone of the regular bumphelmet with the trapazoid shaped vent holes and the molded NVG shroud. The second link is for the clone of the carbon bumphelmet with the oval holes and bolt on nvg shroud. I also attached a picture of mine with the j-arm and rhino mount attached and a multicam helmet cover. http://www.evike.com/products/37346/ http://www.evike.com/products/38696/ And this is where I get my covers. I currently have a M81 Woodland cover on it. http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php/component/virtuemart/view/category/virtuemart_category_id/154
