| I am looking for input for molle pouches. I have narrowed it down to HSGI & G Code. I am leaning towards the HSGI, one of the reasons is their offering, especially the Double decker taco which allows 1 rifle mag & 1 pistol mag per pouch. I am not opposed to single tacos and separating the location between rifle & pistol mags. Does anyone have experience with either or both and what you think of them. I am setting up my PC for classes, range shooting and SHTF scenarios. I am figuring pouches for my light & multi-tool also. Thanks in advance for the input. |

I really really liked my Esstac mag pouches. Sdk carries them. There similar to the taco's in that they don't use straps or velcro however, they actually use kydex and honestly seem superior to the taco design. If you need a double pouch I wouldn't use the double Esstac instead I would stack two singles.
Also blue force gear ten speed mag pouches are another great choice. I haven't used the taco but it relise on a lot like a bungee and separate plastic pieces. Simple is always better. |

| I have a HSGI double taco on my left hip on a raven moduloader. I'm faster with it than my G-Code Scorpion that I had been using previously. Both are good options, but I prefer the Taco's bungee cord retention and very little friction on the draw. Now for running them up front, I have no experience with either as I use a D3CR on my PC. |
| ESSTAC is great but not universal. HSGI is fine but retention is just good, not great and the plastic corners poke the shit out of you. EMDOM have better retention and build quality than HSGI and are SLIGHTLY harder to reinsert while having MUCH better retention, PLUS the pistol mag holders can hold 2 1911 mag or a singe double stack mag and the rifle mag holders can hold one or two mags and retain the remaining mag if you remove the first. You want ONLY a single layer of rifle mags with nothing else on your chest if you ever want to be able to go prone. Pistol mags belong on the belt line, IMO. You only need two pouches to the front weak side for pistol. Pistols are back up. Even police officers only run two pistol magazines. |

I had already thought running one deep on the chest would be better, I never thought about prone position as a reason besides the weight/balance. |

I've ruled them out, but what don't you like about the G-codes? Quoted:

Having done both the tacos and high end offerings from G Code, I would avoid g code. I've ruled them out, but what don't you like about the G-codes? Poor retention, not much flexibility. Which is why I assume they changed their hard scorpions to a taco ish design |
