Hi Everyone,
The subject pretty much says what I want to know about. I have a set of level IV standalone plates on the way and I'd like to know what people are using for trauma pads. I am totally new to body armor. Can I use soft body armor beneath as a trauma pad or do I need to buy non-ballistic trauma pads? Any difference between brands and any testing that's done on them? The plan is to run these in an AWS plate carrier, if that's useful info. Thanks for any input. |

Because non-newtonian layers help spread out the impact and minimize backface deformation. |

I'm asking because I don't know. Anyone heard anything bad about the CATI trauma pads? http://www.catiarmor.com/10x12-Trauma-Pad_p_154.html Cheaper on ebay with free shipping too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-x-12-Non-Ballistic-Trauma-Pad-for-AR500-Body-Armor-and-Ceramic-Body-Armor-/322079992926 |

I am wondering this too after searching for "non-newtonian trauma pads" and finding these.
