I just got a new carrier and plates.  Carrier is from AWS and plates are Highcom 10x12 multi curves.  I pushed the plates all the way to the top, but there is about a 2 inch gap at the bottom once I secure the Velcro to hold the plate in.  Is the carrier too big?  Plates too small?  Or is this something that happens and you just have to adapt?

What size carrier did you get from AWS?

Large.  I called them and try said that is what I would need for 10x12 plates.

As long as they don't move around inside the carrier while you move, you'll be fine.

a lot of PCs will have some play for a size smaller or larger plate, usually they have a velcro strap in there to secure the plate in the correct position.

Large ESAPI's have a lot of room inside the AWS carrier. I had one briefly and to make my plates fit properly (snug at the top) I had to tape closed cell foam to the bottom of my plates.
