Looking for what others are using with their Greyman Kit.
I'm thinking of a khaki colored pair of discreet cargo/tactical pants vs my usual black. Or would a wolf grey be an even better choice without giving off that tactical look and sticking to the Greman theme/concept. But I'm stuck on belt color normally I go all black, but thinking of going with a Jones Tactical 1.5" tan cobra shooters belt to blend in with the pants better. But they do offer a Wolf/Elephant grey belt & buckle combo in their shooters belt.
But my IWB holster is going to be black so I almost want to get a black belt so the holster loops arent noticeable if my shirt pulls up for any reason. Thoughts? I know I'm being a gear queer but I think a well thought out Greyman kit is very important!

| Wear jeans and an untucked dress shirt with the top two buttons undone, non-sport sunglasses (like aviators or wayfarers) and a leather messenger bag. Walk around carrying starbuck's in one hand and an iPhone in the other, and drive a Prius. Even if you were open-carrying a light fifty, nobody would suspect a thing. |

Blend into the herd. Skinny jeans and a flannel shirt. I thought he said "grey" man. Yeah, the grey man concept is to blend in, disappear. Skinny jeans and flannel shirts will make you completely unworthy of notice. 5.11s and polo shirts stand out like a sore thumb. |

Guess it depends on who you're trying to fool. Khaki cargo pants from brands like 5.11, or truspec, or blackhawk or whoever and a lot of gun guys will recognize the 'look.'
Go shopping at your local clothing store for stuff from wrangler, carhart, Levis, or go "high-end" and shop Columbia, Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear, Arcteryx. Pair that with some 'hiking' button up shirts in printed patterns and most people will assume you prefer munching on granola in the woods to packing heat in the streets. |

Just takes a little observation on your part to see what people around you wear.
Take note of what the people of your demographic wear in your anticipated area of operations. Buy clothing on sale and don't buy any thing tacticool. Go to a local tailor shop if you need specific modifications to your gear or clothing. Really most people are sheep, the ones that will notice your tells are either gun carriers like most here, law enforcement or criminals who actually are not high. Buy quality when it comes to your belt and other gear. Leather belts are the norm for the most part so get a good one that is proven in the gun carrying world. Color of belt loops is not important unless you are tucking your holster. Just make sure they are black or brown or low key color. Biggest thing is to dress appropriate for your area, be aware of your surroundings and your body positions and be confident, trust me people don't see that shit 90% of the time. Bottom line don't overthink it, just do it. |

A lot of studying one can do just looking at Wally World. Just stay in the same gender clothing............ Quoted:

Don't overthink it. If you really want to blend in, just wear normal shit and conceal your gear. |

Every trainer, plainsclothes, and off duty cop I've seen in the last decade has pretty much been in Khaki/Coyote cargo pants.
You want to be low key and able to carry a bunch of shit get yourself some carpenter pants, slap on a non fitted t-shirt/flannel/hoody/whatever the hell is season appropriate and leave your Berry compliant boots at home, no one cares about your belt, I wear a big honkin 5:11 and not a word has been made about it. I look like a blue collar working stiff, which is what I am. Usually though I just wear normal jeans and cut back on gear. Round here you can even go full camo and cargo pockets as long as it's Realtree and no one would bat an eye, face paint/mask might get you a second look before dismissal. |

The "grey man" concept is so overthought it is fucking incredible. Just put on normal clothes. Period, dot. It's really not a difficult concept, but I guess it is arfcom and everyone wants to wear operator shit and Velcro over every inch of their 46" waist. Beat me to it. I wear seasonally appropriate civilian clothes. Sometimes in the summer I even wear flip flops! |

Shop at Goodwill.
Find something sturdy and serviceable in your size - "gray" - as in middle of the road. Nothing too flashy or too high fashion - nothing "niche" that will attract unwanted attention from people who mistake you for something else - nothing too grungy. Colors that neither stand out from being too loud or from being too "I'm trying not to get noticed." Patterned shirts (like flannels) have the advantage of breaking up your outline in certain circumstances. Go to a "mainstream" outdoors store like REI, Half Moon Outfitters, or EMS to buy gear - again, middle of the road stuff - nothing premium or super expensive, something a casual shopper would pop into a store and buy without a great deal of planning or forethought. Shoes, too. If you wear your shirt untucked - what belt you wear shouldn't really be terribly relevant. ~Augee |
Buying special "tactical" clothing that is designed not to look like normal clothes but are so fucking obvious to people its funny?
I love the people that get duped into buying "low profile" tactical crap. No..no it is not obvious to anyone who has walked into a gun store before. |

If you want to look normal, just look normal.
Unless your job involves kicking in doors, whatever you wear to work would probably work just fine. ETA: Pants Shirt Belt
Add any type of black leather boots to that and you'll end up with what I wear to work most days, and it works just fine for carrying a handgun and two spare mags without looking too crazy. |

In my AO, that tells me you've got money. Walmart and Goodwill grunge FTW. Seriously, look at the "People of Walmart" page, and you're pretty much there, considering todays society.
