My apologies if this has been beaten to death already. Is there a general rule or measurement to make for picking out which size ceramic plates to purchase ?
TIA |
| Yeah google it, there is tons of info out there. But the top of the plate should be close to level with you collar bone and the left and right side s should just cover your nipples. You should be aboe to side without the bottom of the plate touching your hips and should not be pushed up. Remember plates are designed to protect your vital organs, not to protect your from all injuries so don't go to big, on the flip side don't pick plates to small, some people do this to save weight but don't have adequate protection. |

I'm 6'2" and 200 pounds, had a ex mil buddy help with my plate sizing and it turned out the XL SAPI was the size for me.
Does not interfere with my belt but I have no butt to speak of so my belt does ride all the way down on my hips. On the advice of Bulletproofme.com, I ordered only one XL plate to test out in front, this way if it was to big I could put it on my back and go with a smaller plate in front. Wound up being perfect in front so XL plates front and rear, cost me an ~$10 in extra shipping, well worth it. |
