Because it was beautiful out, like 50 degrees here in Pa! Felt the need to get crafty. I've been considering making stands as a side gig for my buddies and thought of many different materials and such.  I haven't seen any person really marketing stands but I have some ideas.

So this was just a cheapo 28$ gear stand. I bought the materials at lowes and of course I used my mil discount, along with a 10$ gift card, so it really cost me a whopping 16 dollars!

I was searching for the gear stand thread, but only came up with this one, and noticed you cannot post in it.  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_10/327970_.html

If anyone knows where the pic thread is I would greatly appreciate it!

Kinda reminds me of one of those gear stands that samurai's would use to display all their armor. I say cool!

Good job.  I did one as well as this one cost me around $25 make.  The cross bar that hangs your gear doesn't have to be so wide, just wide enough for the shoulder straps to rest on.  It makes it easier for grabbing your gear and hanging it back up.

Nice man, yeah ones I've created over seas were shorter horizontal wood pieces.

I went Martha Stewart and tried something different.  When gathering supplies I didn't think the arms would be that wide.  I also played with the idea of drilling out the center post to fit a 1" curtain rod which  after looking at it at lowes, I knew it was not thick enough to support the weight of the plate carrier plus it would create the shoulder pads to rely on too small of a area to support the weight. It would most liklely  would warm the padding in the shoulder pads.

With how high I like how the P.I.G. Plate carrier to ride on me, I find it difficult to slide my fat head in through the shoulder straps, so I tend to un click the one strap and keep one rib side un velcroed for dawning on and off. So when I take the rig off the stand, I just un click left side shoulder and pull off light arm of stand.

I wanted a knob on the top so it wouldn't really rip the padding in the Kevlar.
