Was thinking about some sort of armor setup and after reading about all of the pros and cons, I decided to go with a level IIIA concealable vest
with a LBT lbv, and was just planning on running that setup with a war belt. What do you guys think about the practicality and decision to go with a lighter more mobile setup? Also I'm wondering how/what I should equip and where. Ar mags and camelback on the FLC, with pistol, mags, and misc. on the belt? I know there are a few pic threads for both vests and war belts, it's just hard figuring out what to go with. |
| That's more or less what I'm doing. I've got IIIA concealment cut soft armor. The carrier has pockets for plates, which I have to add as the situation dictates. A war belt with a pistol, couple mags, couple of rifle mags, gsw kit etc. Then I've got a chest rig which is pretty much just more rifle ammo and water. Obviously all this can be worn separately or in any combination. |

Until I can budget a good plate carrier and plates, I'm using my IIIA vest with an old-school FLC. So far, so good.
This thread has a lot of good information concerning the USGI FLC. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_10/270564_USGI_issue_MOLLE_FLC__fighting_load_carrier__Vest_Review___56k_suicide__UPDATED.html |
