I have a size medium JPC and was curious what the best plate option would be for this vest. I have recently come across some PACA protection class III plates that are size 8x10 for $50 each. Would these be too small for this vest?

Great price. No idea if it'll fit but that is a mighty fine price.

I think they would fit just fine. My Med ESAPI plates fit snugly in my Med JPC.

The JPC was sized for SAPI plates. Of course they fit.

An 8x10 plate will be too small for a medium JPC. It's much closer to a fitting in a small JPC, but even then, they won't be tall enough. You can add material to the bottom of the plate to bring it up, but it's not a perfect fit.

And as a reminder, those plates are ICW plates, so you'd need a backer as well for it to be rated at level III. As they are they're not rated to stop anything.

I'd probably be alright. My medium plates and backers stick out a tiny bit in the corners of my medium JPC.

So where would be the best place to get inexpensive backers for these?
