There appears to be a belt that runs through the lower portion of the vest (MOLLE 2 FLC) behind the zipper.

Is it possible to attach a drop leg rig to that belt?

Could you access that belt to even try?

Or, is the belt too flimsy to attempt?

Thanks for the FLC owners...looking for a minimalist carrier to go over LVL III armor with plates.

I'm not at home right now but going from memory, I don't think so. I'll check it when I got home, but I'm thinking the belt sits in a tunnel, for lack of a better word.  I was actually thinking about this yesterday but never did check.

If no one answers before then, I'll post the results when I get home.

Nipster's right; the belt travels through a tunnel, and the internal belt inside the tunnel is inaccessible unless the user cuts open the underside of the tunnel.  Easier (and wiser, IMHO) is to attach the drop leg to the PALS webbing on the exterior of the belt tunnel, possibly using some adaptor, such as a MOLLE K-Bar adaptor, or whatever works.

That was kind of my thought - the tunnel idea.

I ended up just ordering one for $30 shipped new.  I'll see what I can make work...

Thanks for the info thus far.

My idea would require alot of modifications.

This is a great set-up for minimalist over body armor load bearing.

Very durable.

Thanks for the replies and reads...

You could cut the bottom of the "tunnel", run the belt through and attach a holster.  If you do though, you should ensure that the nylon won't unravel. Either melt the edges or use nylon binding tape and sew the edges.

Not too difficult, but it would require work.

I have an FLC. Why not just pull that belt all the way out of the "tunnel". and put it through the other way? If that makes sense....

I think you would end up hating that set-up.   A holster attached to a war belt is one thing but attaching it to a vest or chest rig sounds like misery.   You are better off hanging if from your pants belt.

I've been fielding a blackhawk omega vest over LVL III armor with plates - the omega has belt keepers hanging from the bottom edge of the vest.  It is a GOD SEND to have your pistol belt suspended off the vest (shoulders) versus cinched tight enough around your waist to stay up for hours on end when carrying pistol and gas mask on opposite hips.  Like this vest, but in OD....

After "doing stuff" in full gear for an extended period the belt will start to sag where that doesn't happen with the belt attached to the vest.

That said, I am trying the FLC and a belt separately (belt attached to inner belt with keepers and cinched tight).  Thus far feels OK around the office and such, but the next real event will tell the truth...

I am in the eternal quest for the "perfect gear".  Minimal design (for weight reduction as well as less restrictive for movement and heat dissipation) and maximum versatility....the omega works, but I feel constricted.  The FLC already feels like an improvement.

Thanks for the info thus far...

Cheers,
