I am going to build my first battle belt and after going thru all 72 pages on the picture thread I think I have narrowed it down and would like some help making the final choices and opinions.
Thanks Gabe

Belt

-ICE Adjustable Belt- I like the idea of being able to adjust with more or less layers
OR
-HSGI SureGrip with Cobra

Suspenders

-ICE I like the wider shoulder straps and a sternum strap

Dump

-HSGI I like the idea of mesh instead of sold dump

Magazine

-HSGI Double Taco Quantity 3
or
-ATS Triple M4/Triple Glock

IFAK

-ICE belt mount
or
-SOE Tear Off

I would go HSGI. They are SUPER comfortable.
Suspenders

-ICE I like the wider shoulder straps and a sternum strap
I personally don't like suspenders. My Belt weighs about 8 pounds and I don't find a need for them.
Dump

-HSGI I like the idea of mesh instead of sold dump
Good pouch but big.
Magazine

-HSGI Double Taco Quantity 3
or
-ATS Triple M4/Triple Glock
I would go With the TACO, VERY fast and good retention.
IFAK

-ICE belt mount
or
-SOE Tear Off
I have no experience with either of these so I cannot recommend one.

What size belt do you plan on getting? I wear a Medium HSGI belt, and two double TACOS and one pistol TACO are a tight fit with a dump pouch G-Code holster and Knife.

Planned on getting a large I am a 34 waist

I am I size 34 waist also and i went with the medium, It works but The large would be nice just because of the extra real-estate. The three TACOS on a large would probably work, I only run two because the third is too far back on my back.

You can't go wrong with HSGI !

Go with the HSGI suregrip - medium. I'm a 36-38 and I got a large and it fits perfectly.

3 TACOs is unrealistic on a medium, hard still even on a large. TACOs are definitely the pouch you want.

HSGI dump pouch is probably ok. I use the emdom. I like the semi rigid opening.

I'm not a fan of suspenders but YMMV

ETA: my only experience with IFAKs is HSGI Bleeders and the ITS Tallboy so I won't comment but would definitely recommend the HSGI or ITS

I planned on suspender because like my tool belt at work it usually is overloaded and the suspenders help take the weight.  I see that most guys only have 2 Tacos, I am assuming do the limited amount of real estate.  Also how is a fixed size belt at different times of the year with different amount of clothing?

Thanks for the replies

HSGI make a great war belt, very comfortable and durably, its popular for a reason. I use mine with a First Spear multicam duty belt with cobra buckle. For a dump pouch i use a Emdom MM dump pouch, its heavier and more rigid than the mesh pouch you are looking at but it wont swing around and bounce of your leg when running.

Large ATS War Belt and Emdom inner belt. I'm a 34 waist. Everything has plenty of room and is easily assessable.

I was a 32 waist, but find myself closing in on 34 lately (that's another thread in and of itself)

I had a Medium HSGI Sure Grip Belt but just bought a Large. Medium was OK but the ends did not come together - had a nice 2-3" gap. The large not only comes together better (ends meet) but I gained an additional 3 columns of MOLLE (20 columns on the Medium vs 23 on the Large).

I just replied to the war belt pic thread asking some of the same questions. I'm in the process of moving my stuff around (again) and trying to consolidate.

Trying to decide vs two (2) single TACO pistol mags AND two (2) single TACO rifle mags (total of 6 columns) vs two stacked pistol/rifle combo TACO (4 columns but added 'height') as well as 'what else'.

I just picked up the HSGI mag-net dump pouch. Initial impression overall is I'm (personally) not all that happy with it. It takes up too much horizontal space IMHO. YMMV. Maybe if I go with the single mag pouches I could hang it directly off the TACOs and get double duty. I am still trying to weigh the cost/benefit of running a dump pouch at all. I might change to a smaller one (I have a TT and looking at the Emdom Loopy and/or Blue Force but can't find one in stock in Multicam).

I WILL include an IFAK. Currently have a HSGI Bleeder. Looking at ITS.

I WILL also include my G Code (when it finally arrives) for my sidearm.

I would like to include a knife (stopped by yesterday to pick up either an ESSE 3 or ESSE Izula but fortunately my local dealer had their entire stock out for a local show this weekend) so the knife remains an outstanding TBD.

Wondering about including water, tools/lights, etc. For some reason, I keep trying to add some small pouch such as a Blue Force Small Admin or SORD Micro just for 'things'.

The first question is if you are going to be just running the belt or in addition to a chest rig/PC.
I have an Izula but it's not the right knife for a warbelt IMHO. It's just too small. A folder in your pocket would be much more effective. I think the ESEE 3 might even be too small. I think my RC4 is a great size. I think the 5 or 6 is just getting unwieldy.

At times, yes. At other times, no. Probably more times I will not than will. Hence why I keep finding myself trying to cram way too much crap on the belt.

I am not active duty any more. I am not a high speed low drag black ops operator in harms way. More of a semi active arm chair commando nowadays. My use will be only for range time/fun, training classes and God forbid, SHTF.

I see the warbelt as truly my first line with a chest rig/carrier added and removed as need be.

Unfortunately, as soon as I get the belt issued resolved, I have to make the same decisions about chest rigs and/or carriers. I have too many of them. (which isn't a bad situation to have - just more stuff for EE one day if I ever get around to it).
