Verify, but I believe the Mk 31 Mod 0 launchers were considered AOW's according to ATF. They're easily modified to fire .25 Auto rounds.

If modified to fire .25 ACP they become an AOW. As they come from the factory they are just flare launchers.

I have used these flares. They do fail with age, so have a redundant signalling method along.
Not often seen around here. Good catch.

A $200 Form 1, then whatever modifications are necessary.

As far as signaling devices go, Truflare makes something very similar. It would be cool if the flares interchanged.
