Who can tell me about Danner RAT boots. Not the Bates or Wellco's, Danner only

What would you like to know about them? They're quite comfortable but heavy. It depends on what climate you intend to use them in as to whether you'd want the hot or temperate version.

I'd want the hot since I'm here in TexMexistan. Definitely extreme desert. Needing something that will hold up well in the rocky terrain here. I have Acadias and they are good, but looking for a second pair to complement what I have.

Comfortable, good traction, no failures, but I haven't done any rough mountaineering in them yet. They are a little heavy, but I'm used to steel toe work boots so I don't find it obectionable. I'd buy another pair, but I don't think I'm not convinced I'd ever pay full price for them.

Well, my brother who wears the same size I do bought some from the Danner outlet for $180, but his wife threw a fit. Now they are on my feet as we speak...

Tough boots, great traction

But they are warm as hell, I have both the temperate and hot version and I cannot wear the temperate most of the time and the hot are pretty warm even walking around in 40-50 degree weather.

These are the hot version. I have Acadias in the hot version, and they do just fine down here.

The flaws on my "seconds" had the inspectors stickers pointing them out, one of the two had two small scuffs to the toe cap, pretty impressive QC really, pretty ridiculous reason to reject an issue boot, nice win for me though, the factory texture has since been completely obliterated, so other than the reject hole punching no one would ever know. According to Danner if its something that will actually effect the service of the boot they don't sell them.
