This is not an IFAK for my chest rig but a larger kit that I keep nearby. It goes under the seat in my SUV, in my hiking/hunting bag, in my range bag, etc.
Contents: 2x 5x9" heavy surgical pads 1x 6" Israeli bandage 1x 4" Israeli bandage 1x Quick Clot combat gauze 1x Quick Clot 25g sponge 3x H&H primed compressed gauze 1x CAT tourniquet 1x 3" ACE wrap 1x Nasopharyngeal Airway w/lube 1x roll waterproof med tape 1x 12' bright yellow duct tape 10x steri-strips 1x 7" EMT shears 1x chem light 1x Streamlight LED light 2x pair nitrile gloves 2x large safety pins I still need to pick up a set of HALO seals and one or two TQ-4s as spares to the CAT. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile You should find a way to secure the TQ to the outside. Also some alcohol wipes and a pocket mask. You're more likely to need the pocket mask than most of that stuff and you're likely to need it if you need any of the trauma stuff. Oh and as many rolls of gauze that you can stuff in there. |

Not to be a dick, but you sure about that? I'm almost positive rescue breaths aren't even recommended anymore but it's been a little bit since my cpr re-cert. I also agree about picking up more CAT's instead of the TK-4's, those are one thing you don't need to cheap out on. |

TK-4s don't work very welll. Get another CAT or three. Good kit. No room for more CATs, unfortunately. I wouldn't rely on TK-4s for primary combat tournies but they should work well enough on a brachial or ulnar bleed if I've already used the CAT. Moving the CAT to the outside is a good idea. Maybe I could have a couple elastic loops sewn to the top of the case. Good thread. I like your kit, OP and I will be modifying my truck kit to reflect some of your ideas this week.
One thing I am thinking of doing is making an EMT "jump kit" for the house. Do any of you guys have experience with this?my parents were both EMTs and I remember them having a pretty well stocked kit. I just can't remember what went into it! |
