Has anyone else had problems with their surefire helmet light damaging the rim of their helmet? Installing an removing mine a few times has cause little spots of paint flaking and light impressions from the screws. Even worse the pressure of the light clamping down on the brim has created indentions from the screws and the bottom screw has left a mark in the (presumably non ballistic) softer brim material. Just wondering if this is the norm. I'm probly going to repaint the helmet so the paint flaking isnt a big deal, but the indentions in the brim will still be there.

Normal wear.

The metal claws, the screw, and the raised plastic dots on the light have to grab onto something whether it is the cover or some fancy paint job.  Either way, it is going to leave a mark.

hint...don't worry if the paint job on your helmet gets scratched.  Worry if it isn't scratched, because that means you have wasted your money on some museum piece.

Just throw it down the driveway.

Well then I must be doing something right. I dont wear a helmet when training that often, but mine certainly has some finish wear (though obviously the ballistic portion is fine) from bumping into stuff, rattling around in the gear bag, etc. I won't be throwing it down the driveway however.
