I bought a pair of these on clearance and they're going to be for hiking and general outdoor activities.

Anyone have experience with these?

About to buy a pair myself.     Of course the wife doesn't like the walnut color so looks like I will be ordering earth.    Wish I could find them for that cost.    All I can find is $89.    Tried a pair on thought and definitely looking foward to them.

Awesome shoes. One of my friends wore them on deployment and thinks highly of them, too.

For the low cut Merrells, I prefer the Chameleon for outdoor activities.  I did have a pair of ventilated Moabs for about year....not too bad for light use.  Wear out real quick, but comfortable and light.

I like them.  Oil and coolant will ruin the rubber toe cap if you work around that stuff at all.

They are my go-to hiking boot (I do the hi tops)  I am on my third pair.  I use one for a year, then relegate it to the "work/range/hiking shoe" and promote the new pair for work, casual wear.

Def worth 65 bucks. I've retired a pair of Winter Mocs, and I'm rocking some Chameleons as my range/shitkicker/trunk boot. Super comfy, super versatile. But this is the only brand, and I do mean brand, as this has affected both pairs I've owned, that STINKS. Like, smell them when you're wearing them stinks. Something about the chemistry between Merrell and me, I guess. Nowhere near the same issue with multiple pairs of Vasque, Mizuno, Newbies, Aasic, Doc, Sperry, Chaco, Teva, etc.

I use the boot version as my summer boots here in Texas.  Great choice for hot/dry weather.  If you are worried about water, better get something with some gore-tex, but great for hot weather.

Merrell makes good stuff, durable and comfy.  Had a pair of chameleon stretches that I wore for everything include a Ballistic Shield Operator class. Never let me down over 2+ years.

While more expensive, Asolo makes a much better lasting light hiking shoe.

Maybe they have been unluckly, but everyone I know who has owned Moabs shredded them very quick.

Great shoes and the best price online I could find was $68. They do tend to pick up stick on and thorns pretty easily though.

My Moabs were super comfy, but fell apart quite quickly as well.

Mine fell apart also but just the soft rubber toe cap.  As I said earlier I attributed it to oils and coolants at work.  What failed on your shoe first?

The last 2 pairs of Merrells I have bought, have been POS, I bought the Goretex version of the ventillaters and the cushin squeaks when I walk. They make these laceless "dress" shows called passports and the first 2 pairs I had were awesome and very comfortable, the new pair I bought feel like im walking on bricks. I spent the money and bought a pair of Solomon GT4x(or something like that) and they are super light and comfortable.
