Most of the boot knives I've seen have horrible sheaths for them.  That is, boots nowadays have thick rims/padding/supports at the top of them, they are not thin pieces of leather.  Are there any sheaths that have a clip or attachment device that is actually effective at retaining and contouring to the anatomy of the top of a boot?

Thanks

I don't often carry a boot knife, but when I do, I never attach it to the boot.  Haven't for a long while.  I found it better to use a wrap of some sort, even just a bandana.  Lay the clip on the outside with the wrap between it and the sheath, then tie or velcro the other end of the wrap to keep things tight.  I've also stuck it into the tops of heavy socks (used to wear soccer socks under my boots and fold them over to form a sort of belt to keep them from sagging)

Never could find a comfortable way to do it, though, unless I was wearing really high boots.
