The Crye one doesn't look to shabby. I'd be worried about snagging it on something though. Also, not much real-estate.
The S&S is a fail. Polymer or metal plate holder would only fit a specific size and cut of plate. So fuck the plates I have already. I'd have to get new ones.
Cool concepts, but I'll pass and stick with my ESPC. |
| About damn time. Manufacturers are finally realizing that not everybody wants a million yards of nylon, just the armor. If somebody releases a carrier that just holds plates and doesn't even waste material covering them, I'd buy it in an instant. Why not just make plates with velcro on them, and strap them straight on? |
| The JPC is fairly light weight & the built in carrying capacity (3 AR mag pockets & admin pouch) lie flat when not in use. The new Crye offering at least, would only save a few more ounces compared to the JPC. But hey, if it reaches full production (not that it looks to require alot of man hours to manufacture) they will sell - first place you'll see em ––- eBay.... |

| honestly, i think they will sell some because they "look cool", but i dont expect to see alot of people use them. i dont like that the plates are completely exposed to everything, at least in a regular plate carrier they have some sort of protection from the elements. |

As long as the cats don't scratch at them or spray them they should be gtg |

I agree with all posters, Novel Idea, not very realistic for outerwear, does have some possibilities for low profile under clothing wear, especially the crye.
I'm with you Dawg 180, my Blackhawk low vis ( I got mine for $39 ) is excellant for outer and concealed wear, lite weight and tough as nails. heard the S&S carrier will retail for over $300, Thanks but no thanks. I like the Idea of covering the plates with Velcro and just attach shoulder and waist strap, now that would be a low profile plate carrier. |
