Better IFAK?

1. Blue Force Gear Trauma NOW kit

2. ATS medical pouch

3. OSOE VOK

If you respond to poll please post justifications here. (I posted "other" to see results)

I'm running the BFG kit right now, but I paracorded the insert to the pouch so it wouldn't end up lost.

These are all very good.  I like the BFG TKN because it takes up the same space as the ATS, but holds a bit more, and has the tourniquet retention outside the pouch.  It's pretty light, and has the best organization of the three.  Tough part about the pull-out is that you better have your contents secure or you could be scouring the earth for you kit when you pull it out.

The ATS stays closed when you tear it off, which is great for a 2nd "share" kit, in case you have to throw it to a buddy.  Your kit is for you.  It's also the least expensive.

The OSOE VOK takes up only 2 PALS columns, so it's both smaller and has less capacity, yet still carries what you need.  It's also the best made of the three.

I have the EOD pouch from HSGI as my aid kit; it's got a lot of room and is nicely organised. Might mod it with a red nylon tab on one of the corners a la RskTkr's Down Kit for faster opening.

I'm rocking an OSOE.

Great kit, nice and small carries what you need. He is running a sale on them now.

I have been using a diamondback tactical small releasable medical pouch. Never had any trouble with it.

I have two Tactical Tailor IFAK pouches and 3 or 4 SO Tech IFAK's. They are both very high quality, the TT has lots of room, but I think the SO Tech is a better design.

Just as an added comment, and of the IFAKs that people are posting that you did not inquire about can indeed be made into tear-off IFAKs with one of these.

Been running the ATS for a good while now, it's well-designed.
