Dudes,

I want to augment my workouts by using a weight vest but also want to incorporate some training into them.

So i want to use a plate carrier as a weight vest+plate carrier. But in order to keep cost down and not to mess up real plates does anyone know where they sell training plates?

I dont even know if they exists but Id appreciate any help. Thanks.

Check grey group

Personally id get creative about this... Think sand, cardstock, 4mil thick plastic sheeting and duct tape
creative application thereof will lead to a better appreciation or readdressing of your scenario

They can and just seal over the hole will silicone or something similar.

Also I believe TYR has training plates that actually offer ballistic protection for $150 each.

AIrsoft plates may work.

And i saw those from Bulletproofme but they are square cut. Im looking for something SAPI or swimmers.

ETA:

Found these.

I think thats exactly what i am looking for. Now, lets see if they make side plates and well be in business.

OOh also a nice option. And they have side plates.

Since these are non-ballistic sizing doesnt really matter to me.

But, in general im 5'9" 170, that would make me a small SAPI right?

I'm roughly the same dimensions (though most of my weight is from my liver) and I prefer a small ESAPI. Medium works well too though.

I dunno...If yer using a plate carrier......what is wrong with the plates it came with? How about some plain ol mild plate steel? 20...30...maybe 40 bucks depending on what steel yard ya went to. Cut to size right there....and how exactly are you going to damage ar400/500 plate? They use it to tip dozer and grader blades....are you going to skid on the pavement for a couple days under a car?

I don't know what plate carriers you're buying but the ones i see don't come with plates.

Secondly, steel plates are an option and I have considered them. Going to the steel yard and getting them cut some plate for me is not.

I don't know about "yer" chest, but mine isn't flat.
