| Anyone use either the tactical tailor or maxpedition model of these? Im interested in one for my IOTV. |

I just picked up the Tactical Tailor one to stick on my 3-day pack. You can really stick a bunch of stuff in there. It works great for sorting out all those little things one would/could carry around. Though, I have it on a pack, so i'm not sure its usage on a chest rig/armor. But doing a quick measurement, mine is about 3.75 inches thick while filled. That may or may not get in the way of any pouches you have mounted underneath it, i'm not sure. When not filled, it compresses a little, but not as much as the Maxpedition one.
I chose the Tactical Tailor one over the Maxpedition one because I didn't like depending on a velcro flap to keep all my stuff in. While it may very well be secure, the open part on either side of the flap made me a little uneasy. I also had no use for the flip down ID portion on the Maxpedition one. I like the distribution of gear and layout better on the Tactical tailor one. But...your mileage may vary. All in all, great way to carry and organize tiny things that would have been just rolling around your pockets/pack into one convenient pouch. |

Is it tough to get your stuff out of it due to the zipper not opening all the way down the sides? Hmm. I wouldn't say it's too difficult, but bear in mind, since it's on my pack, I have the luxury of attacking it from the outside, rather than trying to fiddle with it on my chest. I imagine it could get a little cramped, but definitely doable. There is lots of elastic loops for organization in there, so things sorta slide in and out, assuming they're the correct size. Pulling my multitool and replacing it isn't that tough. But...there is definitely room for improvement in that regard. I do wish the zippers came down a little more. Even an extra inch would have given it a better amount of clearance. But all in all, i'd say its probably the only minor con I can think of. And even then, it's still very usable. Though, the front pocket, with the map attachment thing opens fully down the sides. That one is way more convenient. I'd say if you have something you absolutely need to get to on a moments notice, put it in the second pouch up front. |

I really like BDS's S.L.A.P Admin Pouch

| Those guys suggesting the TT enhanced admin might be onto something. According to TT, it's 2 inches deep, probably give or take half an inch when filled, but that might give you enough room to hold your stuff, and yet still enough to grab from pouches below. And the zippers go all the way down, but the flap doesnt fall past 90*. Definitely something to look into. |
| I own/use both. I use the maxpedition admin pouch on my raid vest at work - its top notch gear and I would buy another (if only they offered it in MC). I only picked up the MSM/TT pouch for a rig I was building in multicam & the Maxpedition unit is not available in MC. I figured they'd be fairly similar, but no. I much prefer the Maxpedition pouch for my admin needs - pen/markers, notebook and to have quick access to ID/creds. Its much easier to show ID/creds with the Maxpedition pouch and the velcro seems easier for one-hand to access the main compartment with the vest on. |
| Here is my review of the MSM Stealth Admin Pouch. I have the TT pouch now and I must say I like it a lot more for use on my chest and/or body armor because I can open it up fully |
