I like these Oakleys - no idea if they are made in the US or not, not if I had to guess.  But they are nice.

My favorite gloves have been my Mechanix brand gloves. They provide enough dexterity to run in a shotgun class with them on and enough protection to keep my hands warm in a cool breeze. They're the only glove that I own where I can actually load a shotgun without fumbling the shells. As far a durability goes, mine have a good year's worth of work on them and there is a small tear in one of the seems.

Edit - They are made in China though....

Gloves for what?  That are capable of what?  Are you looking for cold weather, dexterity, what?

For shooting, a lot seem to like the Mechanix.  I like the Nomex flight gloves.

I have the mechanix original and the oakley assault.  I prefer the mechanix unless it's cold weather because they are thinner and offer more dexterity.  They are also inexpensive and machine washable which is nice when going hands on with dirty people.

Mechanix Impact Pro

They do make a "covert" model in all black.I am very happy with these gloves, and you can buy from Lowes etc. without having to order, pay freight, return for wrong size.

I've tried a couple pairs including mechanix (which are rock solid), but I always come back to the good ol nomex flight gloves.  Simple, comfortable, and offer further coverage up the wrist (if thats something you care about).

I use Hatch Operator gloves as my daily patrol work gloves. The thumb and pointer fingers are just a layer of leather with "grippers" on the other finger tips. Very good dexterity still.

I wear a pair of Mechanix Mpacts when I need to protect my hands. They also work well for keeping hands warm down to about 30*F. If it gets much colder than that, I throw a pair of mil-issue green wool liners on under them and they work great. As a matter of fact, I can't say how well they keep my hands warm, as I haven't been in temperatures low enough, even with strong winds, to get my hands cold while wearing them.

After a couple of chilly, wet, rainy classes I bought a can of Scotch brand waterproofing stuff ands sprayed my mechanix gloves. World pretty well.
