thrift stores for the old metal housing models....modern machines capable of sewing cordura in multiple layers are expensive....as in close to $1000 for some better models. look up DIY Tactical (I think) for more info....

Umm no,   you will need to read up on sewing before hand

How much money do you have?  Time? Patience?

Suggest you look at singer manuals and guides

Eggrolly is correct.

Find someone who teaches sewing classes and take one.  Read the Para Riggers Handbook and Then visit the LF Roll Your Own section and R-E-A-D (don't post anything, just read) as well as DIY Tactical.

Once you have a grasp on basic sewing you will have a better idea what items you want to make and what kind of machine(s) you need.

Then you won't have to ask what type of machine to look for, you'll have some real experience and have read various approaches and you can make your own decision(s).

Good Luck

I have no time, or money, or patience so maybe I should just leave it to the experts.

MASTERY of the FUNDAMENTALS

you got the response borne by the question originally asked

But since you admit to not having the time patience or money, even facetiously as you have put it, this endeavor is NOT cheap, nor is it something that those whove managed to get into this arena will likely explain in-depth to someone who "wants in".

You are asking to jump into a stage that took us several years, degrees of effort, massive expenditures of time & resources to get towards, we are not experts nor have we claimed to be so... but we have made forth the effort in as much by our own labor to get to this point... making tactical gear is not an easy thing to do.  but if youre not willing to get or DO the essential learning and research down, then why should we get you any further along?
