hey folks, i just picked up a DE 5.11 VTAC LBE vest and wanted to find some multicam pouches for it, does anyone have experience with a company called modgear? found some competitive pricing (same price as 511/blackhawk DE) but these were MC. if they are crap, i could use some pointers for branding. my previous loadout was all black and since I'm not on SWAT, its not a practical color setup, lol. Thanks!
GOAL: to stay hidden with the vest on, lol. the DE vest over multicam worries me, but i love this vest. hopefully the pouches can cover the majority of it up |

I'm not say they're equal - OEMs can produce different product lines with different levels of quality and even some custom features, such as the 5.11 slick stick (which I rather like) and different US companies can purchase and resell these under their own brand. it's just that a lot of the stuff varies significantly in quality and standard of construction and even materials even within the same product lines within the same brand. for example, I've looked at several of the same branded "gadget pouches" all in a bin at the local surplus store and you can see different connectors, weight and coating of cloth, and quality of stitching even though they are "manufactured" by the same company. choose carefully... |
| damn, I was thinking of the old addage, you get what you pay for...I guess I should stick with either teh 5.11 VTAC or the blackhawk STRIKE pouches, i trust those two. does anyone here wear MC BDU's? I'm trying to find out how black and earth look over the cami's. I've already called the store I ordered my LBE from and requested a swithc from balck to earth, was this a good move? |
