Thought on their plate carriers? I've been looking at a couple of different models, but don't know anyone that has any personal experience with them as far as quality, fit etc. is concerned. Also wondering if they run true to size; I'm about 6' and 190 so I'm trying to decide whether I need a M or L.

I can't speak to the plate carrier, but I have a lot of other stuff from DBT that is very good quality.  In 2005 I bought their predator vest.  I went with a large (glad I did), I'm 5'11" about 210.

That's one of the pieces I'm looking at. I like that it will take SPEAR LIIIA, and I think you can still add plates if you want.

Thanks for the heads-up on the sizing.

Their plate carriers have quite a bit of adjutment to them, but if you want to wear any snivel gear for colder stuff, you'll want to run your actual size.

Not to mention the fact that they also take large plates, and more area for armor is generally a good thing.

5'10" 190?  You'll need a Large.

I can't speak to their vests, but the pouches I've bought from them were of excellent quality construction, and relatively low price as compared to others by Eagle, HSGI, and other top-tier mfrs.

disclaimer: no financial interest.

I really like DBT gear. Everything I gotten is best-in-class, especially mag pouches. My only regrets is that everything I sold or traded I now miss.

The regional FBI SWAT for my area runs DBT gear... They've got unbelievable financial resources and that's what they run.

I've got their FAPC Gen1 and a pair of DAPS with plates...All good gear IMO.  Solid stitching, well thought-out, and good customer service backing it up.

If you're looking at the FAPC when you talk about "plate carrier", get a Large.  It'll hold Large SAPI with a little bit of wiggle room, allowing for non-issue plates or kevlar backers as well.  It's a very nice low-profile rig when all you need is something to hold the plates up and add a couple of pouches to, with no bells and whistles to get in the way.

not to hijack, but how would you rate their pouches when compared to HSGI, Emdom, etc?

I don't personally own any of their pouches, mine are mostly Tactical Tailor.  I know someone on here must have them, though - try taking a look through the "gear pr0n" threads and PM people that have their stuff.

Since they were one of the only companies that would sell me a vest with sewn in soft armor, I got an Advance Warrior FAPC with QVA panels - incredibly comfortable compared to the IBA I'm use to. Very well made as well. I run it with the zipper conversion for the front pouch, 3 SR25 magazine pouches (for my SOCOM 16) and a double 9mm/40 cal magazine pouch for G23 mags. I'm 5'10" and 180 pounds, I went with a large based on what the lady on the phone recommended, from what she said they run pretty small.

I also have the cummerbund system for the vest but it seemed a lot easier to go without it since I don't have side plates anyways. Diamondback also gives a pretty killer .mil discount, too.
