I sent the company an email last night asking for a call or email to address this issue. No call or email from this company yet. Am I being unreasonable?
Expecting a response within basically 6 hours of them opening? Yes. I don't know how many emails I get from customers who place an order at 11pm on a Saturday and email me on Sunday asking if it's shipped yet. If you need a reply right now, try calling them. Not everyone, or every company, live in email. They might not check it but once or twice a day. |

Sorry about the misinterpretation....I guess I just see things like that and relate it to my experience. :)
As to the pack conditions, it could be they missed that on an otherwise VG condition pack. I would expect it to match their description of no rips/tears/etc.. Give them a call and ask them about it. |

Probably something overlooked. It is not terribly obvious, but nevertheless they should make it right. Let us know how they treat you.
On the off chance that this does not work out, you can repair the drain grommet yourself. First thing to do is remove the old grommet, being careful to not tear the fabric anymore than it already is. You might use a razor blade. Get some contact cement suitable for nylon fabric, and glue a circular patch a couple of inches in diameter centered on the hole in the fabric, and punch a hole in the center of the patch same size as the shank of the BRASS grommets that you will purchase, the shank of which is a tinch bigger than the hole in the fabric. Before installing the grommet, sear the inside if the hole in the fabric with a bic lighter. Don't enlarge the hole so much that the grommet is too lose a fit. Install patch on inside of pack. Insert grommet, and assemble using tool provided. Hopefully this won't be required, but if you follow my instructions, your pack will be salvaged and give many years of service. |
