Here is my new plate carrier.  I am not LE or military, just another civilian gear geek.  This is my hunting, competition, and zombie setup.  I go hunting (bunny and pig blasting) in the deserts here in west Texas quite often.  This plate carrier is much more comfortable than my chest rig/pack combo, and you figure out what works and what is comfortable when you walk around in the desert for 8 to 10 hours.  This setup is very comfortable and seems to work well.  Let me know what you guys think.

Diamondback Tactical FACP Gen II plate carrier
Diamondback Tactical M4/M16 Triple Mag Pouch (holds 6)
Diamondback Tactical Double 9mm Mag Pouch with DetLoc
Diamondback Tactical Small Low Profile Utility Pouch
Diamondback Tactical 100oz hydration pouch

Looks good but I do recommend a Medical pouch and a dump pouch. What goes in your small low profile pouch lights and stuff or what?

No plates yet, but I will have some level 4 SAPI's on the way soon.  I just made something to fill the carrier.

Ill be sure to post pics once its dirty, just to please you.  And why would I spray paint my gear to make it look dirty?

Thanks.  I am going to add a dump pouch on my belt for sure.  As soon as I get the cummerbund I will add a medical pouch inside of the medium utility pouch.  I use the low profile pouch to keep things that I want to stay with my carrier, such as, hear pro, hunting license, surefire, GPS, small amount of food, etc...

Looks great!

A few questions:

- why did you choose the FAPC?
- why six rifle mags?
- have you considered adding the DBT cummerbund?
- what plates are you getting?

Thank you.  One of my friends has the DBT FAPC.  He let me try it on, and it was very comfortable.  Good quality at a good price, and it is made in the USA.  6 mags is the most that I can carry without the cummerbund, and I do not want to triple stack the mags.  I am going to add the DBT cummerbund.  As of right now, all I know is that they are going to be level 4 plates.  I dont know exactly what brand.

I see two major problems in your pics:

Your gear and your rifle are too clean.

My rifle gets plenty of use, but I do clean it.  Get over it.

You need to recalibrate your sarcasm meter...I am just busting your chops.

Get over it.  :)

Question, are you left handed? Your pistol mags and rifle mags are all set up for left handed access. If so you could switch that GP pouch and your pistol mag pouches to allow for quicker access with your right hand for reloads.
Other than this all great gear and set up well but way tooo clean. Go out get dirty running and gunning then come back with some new pics.

Sorry man, I have seen other guys here get flamed for having "clean" gear.  I am not the type to buy something just to have it.  It will get dirty.  I am just posting pics of it new so that I can get other ideas about what I may be doing right/wrong.

Right handed.  I have actually considered the pistol mags pouches and the utility pouch that you brought up.  I seem to like the rifle mags the way they are.  When I grab a mag and pull it out, it is in the right position to jam it home.

Everyone has their own method to grap items and such so if it works for you go for it. The pistol mag seems like it would be akward for a right handed shooter however.
Just be glad you not F@#% like me and right eye dominate, I shoot rifle right handed and pistol left handed. Took a good trainer to help me fix some pistol shooting problems I had.

Good information!

As for the mags, I was actually referring to the fact that I think that six mags might be a bit much.  I would prefer to only have three on the front, perhaps with a utility/CLAP on front, or move the pistol mags there.  You can carry more mags in your assault pack, and it will help reduce the load on the front of your PC.

It does seem to work well with the rifle mags in that position.  You are right about the pistol mags.  I am right eye dominate, but I am right handed.  I know someone who is left eye dominate and right handed, but as you said, with good training and practice he was able to overcome that.

The mag pouches have an elastic band around them so that if you only want to hold one mag in each pouch, it will still hold the mag secure.  When we go hunting (really just bunny and pig blasting), we can run through quite a bit of ammo.  I dont mind the extra weight, its great excersise.  This rig feels really balanced with the camel back full or even half full of water.
