| I have a spare bullet resistant vest that I would like to turn into a carrier for mags and gear. Basically something I can slip on and go. I'm not sure what type of product I'm looking for, so if anyone has suggestions that would be great. Thanks. |

Quoted:
is a Molle carrier the same as a plate carrier? not necessarily, the MOLLE is the type of attachment system, the horizontal webbing that the various gear uses to stay attached to the carrier. a plate carrier is something that has pockets for SAPI plates to go into, some have plates and soft armor, just plates, just soft armor and some have no protection at all just the attachment system. what do you want to be able to do with this ie just carry gear/ammo or that and provide ballistic protection? |

Yeah I would like it to be a ballistic vest that I can carry ammo and gear on. I have the soft armor so I'm looking for a shell I can slide the armor into and attach mag shingles and things like that. |
| what type of armor do you have? depending on what the shape of the armor is will tell you which carrier you can run. the MARSOC (new marine special forces) guys i knew who were in Afghan would run plate carriers with all the pouches and gear on it then separate soft armor under it when needed. i'm not sure if that's what your going to want to do but an option. |

It's a second chance vest. Basic vest that would be issued to police. Any good sites I can look at? |

there are a lot, ebay has some good used stuff but alot of AIRSOFT CRAP too so you gotta know what your looking for.
http://www.tacticaltailor.com/index.aspx http://www.511tactical.com/Shop http://www.afmo.com/ https://www.entrygear.com/ http://www.skdtac.com/default.asp look around on here and find a vest you like then google it, that is what i did to find different stores that sell the stuff. i like SKD, i bought some stuff from them and they ship fast to CT, or talk to "Custom-X_Sponjah" on here he will know exactly what will work with the stuff you have. PM me with what part of CT your in, i have a carrier i may be looking to get rid of and this way with a face to face you can try it on which is why i am a bit hesitant about buying threw internet sites. |
