Okay so, I hate wearing glasses. Especially when I'm shooting. When I engage my cheekweld, I'm always looking up over my glasses, with usually the sights split in two by the top of my lenses. It kind of sucks and getting the eyeballs lazored-out isn't an option until July at the very earliest, provided of course another ridiculous financial crisis in the parade of crises that affect all of our lives doesn't decide to march its way through Main Street, blasting its sousaphones and throwing confetti as it goes.
So, here's a conundrum, a crisis even. I wear glasses (lame). Contacts are even lamer, they're out. I like to wear sunglasses when I shoot (gray for these godawful bright white winters, rose for bright summer days and yellow for night or early evening). I'm stuck with clip-ons, for the time being. I'd love to get a set of prescription goggles that can take clip-on or click-in colored lenses. I utterly loathe those one-piece safety glasses that have the prescription inserts, they're even worse when shooting than my existing scrip specs. What I'd like are a set of shooting glasses that are like swim goggles, in that they sit tight against my eyes, close to my brows so I can you know, look upward and still have optical coverage. I'd like to be able to quickly install or clip-on colored inserts. Also, they need to be no-fog, but I reckon that's a process of the optical plastic and not the frames. Glasses I've looked at, like the Wiley-X SG1 have interchangeable lenses, requiring me to buy four sets of prescriptions if I want to change colors. They take all day to change out (bullshit stupid for driving, sometimes you need to take those shades off or put them on while moving) This is retarded. I don't have any intention of spending 150$ for the frames and 100$ each for sets of colored prescription lenses, at that price point, may as well just get the peepers shoop-de-wooped. So, what scrip specs do y'all wear while shooting? I loathe having shitty eyes and hate how the corrective options out there are even shittier. |
