Hi all,
I am new to the shooting sport and currently I am looking for a good range bag. I was wondering if you could show what kind of range bags you all are using so that I have an idea what to look for. I have looked at the Maratac range bag, but does not know if it is good or not. Thanks for your ideas. http://countycomm.com/force47large.jpg |
| I have THIS range bag. It's huge. And awesome. And a good deal, even at the regular price. |
|
I have one and I love it. |

I bought one of these from Midway and it's dam near a suitcase, it's huge. Much bigger than I need. I also have an Allen bag I got at wallyworld for $20, it's what I use. Might be worth a look. Comes with two pistol rugs, made of canvas. Plenty of room for ammo, ear protection, mags ect. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P90M5O Here's the Midway bag
Here's the Allen bag, about a third of the size

Ill throw another vote for the midway range bag. just try not to load it completely, you may need a dolly to move it at the range... If you show up at the range with a plastic wal-mart bag as your gear bag, you better be able to shoot. Hahaha, thats fa true!

I have one and I love it. I have purchased three of these over the years as gifts (Dad, brother-in-law, college roommate for his wedding), and they have been universally well-regarded by the recipients. I have the original version of the Dillon Range Bag (from which MidwayUSA borrowed their design, methinks). I love it. |

I bought an Eagle Industries Range bag almost 12 years ago and expect to use it for the rest of my life.
Wow! They were NOT that expensive in 1998. |

it's just for hauling shit from home to car, from car to range, pretty simple, no need for a fancy ass "range bag" |

I dunno how big you are looking for. I saw a deal on milspec monkey about a new Maxpedition bag that has three sizes and i was thinking the smaller one would work great as a range bag. I don't carry a ton of shit to the range though, i keep my cleaning supplies in a seperate tool box either in the car or at home (don't live far from where I shoot).
I'll edit this in a minute with a link to what i'm talking about. ETA: http://milspecmonkey.com/weargear/packsbags/324-maxpedition-gear-bag-series-jerobam-methuselah-balthazar Ok the first one is the one I was talking about. Just my opinion though, you may decide you need something larger than that. |
