| Mesa or 2-piece MAV w/ X-harness... that is all |
|
2 piece MAV with X-Harness will get my vote..unless you wanted to spend a lot more and get the Esstac chest Rigs, I sold all my stuff to get one of these and love it for the modularity
Just a thought Esstac @ SKD |

Sponjah,
I'd be all about having HSGI make them with pattern-matched webbing for MC and ACU...as soon as he gets some in I'll have him do it. Just a question now of if/when he will. Quoted:
What's this Mesa and who makes it? I'm in the market for a new rig as well. Anyone got links or pics? The MESA Assault Vest is made exclusively for me (Practical Tactical) by High Speed Gear, Inc. There are a couple of folks here who have used them, Darkstar117 being one who has a couple of them. Since I am not an advertiser here, I will not be posting a link to my website, but someone else may come along and do it. There've been a couple of threads in the forum where it's been reviewed. |

Well, I'll be...I wonder if he had that when he did the last batch...I would have loved pattern-matched webbing...sigh...I had only a limited run in MultiCam made, so once those sell, I'll have them pattern-matched in the future. FYI, though, the patterned webbing isn't as "thick" as the standard webbing Gene uses (if it's the same as all the other patterned webbing that gear-makers use). And, really, on the MESA, only the back hydration pouch is Cordura, so that's where the matched webbing is really needed. The front panels are tan-colored mesh with PALS webbing attached to it.
FYI, the first two pics CXS has are me using the second prototype. I still have that vest. To the poster who was worried about offending me vis-a-vis the FLC, none taken. While at first glance there are some similarities, they really are different. The MESA has a dedicated hydration/extra gear pouch on the back, is padded and has adjustable shoulder straps. The FLC would basically be the unpadded version of the front-panels only of a MESA, attached with 2" webbing, with a small MOLLE panel in the small of the back. |
