Exposed skin can be a killer when it comes to camo effect. As an example........

Nice work, thanks.

I love these camo threads and appreciate the work of the OP to get these photos to us.   Do you have any similar ones with the older woodland or maybe ACU?

The OG Woodland would be slightly blotchier than the digi and UCP (ACU as it's miscalled) would be alot like the desert digi as in it'll wash out in green environment.

Great Pics. I'm impressed with the Digital Woodland. I've always thought just from looks that it appeared to be a much better woodland camo than the Army's ACU. As former Army myself I think the Marine Corps was definitely a step or two ahead of the Army when they went with the Desert Digital and the Woodland Digital MARPAT Camo Patterns.

yep
when you are 'in the woods' the light is much more subdued, so for example the whole "but multicam is too lite" argument
is a mute point.

I don't know if it is just me, but I get sort of a Tiger-stripe camo feel off of the Woodland Digital.  I mean, I like it, but it feels... off for some reason.

Actually the top left is x-camo, the bottom one it digital woodland. but yes i some sense Tiger Stripe also in the X-camo, and also in the woodland digital.

Thanks for the correction.  The woodland camo looks pretty good, but it looks like there are 3 shades of brown and only 1 of green.  Personally, I think that if they added a bit of lighter green into the mix, it would turn out really well.  Or has that been done?  edit  just went back and looked again.  ..or were you talking about the X-Camo?

Hawkeye, you mentioned in another thread that you had some older woodland digital camo, and that it has been 'toned down' since.  Is this you have displayed here the older or newer kind?  If you have seen both, could you elaborate?  Also, does anyone know if the 5.11 woodland digital camo and the Propper woodland digital camo are the same mix. or are they competing?

Also, I am about to the point where I need a listed thread just with a picture of each pattern with just a description of what the pattern is and who it is use by, if anyone.  The woodland digital looks similar to the USMC, but I am not sure if it is the same pattern (with or without the AEG) or just similar.

Antoher edit: I found this when I googled 'digital multicam', although people are claiming it is not.  Can anyone ID the pattern for me, and maybe point me to another thread if it has already been discussed?  BB868, I see you posted this also a while back.  Any info?

I'm about to buy some heavy duty hunting gear from Sitka Gear.

Their Optifade camo that they use; produced in collaboration with Gore is pretty impressive. I will work in the areas I hunt very well I believe.

I have been using Desert Tiger Stripe, because I think the colors are best for what we have in California.

But, I've been increasingly interested in German Desert Flecktarn as a possible universal cammo.

If I can find some, I intend to give it a try.

I've long said that the color combination in the DTS would work well in just about any pattern. Heck, the DTS would work fine, if they'd just offer it in a blended material.

Yes...

Tan....Coyote....Sage Green....

That would be the ticket.

Great thread. I took multicam and dyed it dark green to give it a darker hue, it worked fantastic. Multicam is just a little too bright IMHO, but after the mod.

Yes, I have actually...  The trick is to not stand out in the open or hang them in an open sunlit area....  Camoflauge is best used when trying to conceal.  Used it for 18 + years-  EFFECTIVELY!

Just throwing one in there...  Great post anyways!!!  I like the Army digital or the MARPAT the best out of all the hype these days, but I don't think I would give up my woodland anytime soon.

Oh, so thats how it works, my bad.....................................................

I'd really like to see how it works-" EFFECTIVELY!" in MI when it looks like this for a little over half the year.

LOL!  As said before, don't hang them out in the well lit open.  I make it work all the time, even in the winter when there is snow on the ground.

Oh that hurts

I'm so sorry I was mearly pointing out how bad woodland sucks ass  I know, I know, you have to hide behind thick
brush, and in the shadows, and then it works great, never mind if it does even go with your background in general, or when you don't  have any thing to hide behind ( as shown in my pics, multicam does )
