Has anyone used these? How are they for range use? I figure indoors, they won't quite cut it, but outdoors? www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/prrfnbr/24306/sesent/00/EP3-Sonic-Defenderssupandreg-sup |

I use them. You can hear normal conversations without needing to take out your plugs. It does well for small arms fire. I have not used it indoors. Very comfortable for all day wear. They are perfect for patrolling or vehicle ops when you may encounter the occasional explosion or contact. I have not used them for hunting yet. However, they would be awesome for dove, duck etc... again for that occasional shot. |
+1 I'm an officer at a busy airport and these are a must. With all the vehicle traffic and the plane traffic you need some type of hearing protection. But you still need to talk to patrons and your partners and these work great. Also they are real comfortable. BTW I use the EP3. |
| Just orderd the EP4. I'll let you all know how that works out at the carbine course I'll be taking in a few weeks. I also work at the airport, so this concept is really interesting to me because I can't have something as big and bulky as electronic ear pro becasue I'm in and out all day, but it's a pain in the ass to not be able to hear people talking otherwise, so I've just opted to not wear anything at all since it's not constantly loud (well it doesn't seem it), and now I notice I have suffered a bit of hearing loss and now wear plug all the time, so lets see how this works. |
