Has anyone done any research on what it takes to defeat a taser... well... other than being farther than 35 feet away from the person shooting? Obviously, they can penetrate normal clothing.... but what about a carhart jacket, a layer of cordura (chest rig), Multiple layers of cordura (empty plate carrier), or a loaded up plate carrier? Just curious.... ya never know and its always a bonus to be prepared. |

None of the stuff you mentioned works. If one dart misses then you don't get the full ride. The more muscular you are the better tasers work. Yes, countermeasures research & development has been done. Yes it works. No you can't have any of the stuff. BTW yelling "Don't tase me Bro!" does not work. Your best bet is don't show your a$$ to a cop. |
this is true. i've built up an immunity myself. it take a long time and several hundred tazes. i suggest you get started immediately. P.S. for best results, someone who hates you and would like to see you dead should wield the tazer. i suggest an ex-wife. |

Seeing as how tazers focus on muscle lock and not pain, it is not typically something that can be shrugged off. If you have ever had rehabilitation and gotten those muscle stimulators put on you that pulse electricity into you, imagine that x1000. Even if you can force your muscles to relax, the tazer is sending its own electrical impulses that force your muscles to spasm. There's really only one or two ways to realistically not feel the effects. First of all, even if the probes don't touch your skin, if there is nothing insulating you then it will arc to you. The only sure fire way to defeat it is essentially with body armor. The best defeater would probably be a steel plate. The only way that a steel plate is going to work though is if both probes contact the plate. The reason for this is that they will short through the plate instead of your body as they will have the least resistance conducting through the steel. Other than that, kevlar and or ceramic might stop them from conducting but I'm not sure how good either of these are at insulating electricity. |
Planning on starting a soccer riot actually I was just curious on what exectly it would take. So if if the probes are 9mm long.... then whats the max distance it can arc to a persons skin (assuming its high humidity)? May have to rig some wet suit material to the inside of my jackets. |

You guys are funny. There are some ways to defeat taser. I will not talk about them on an open forum, nor will any other LE. The one way I will talk about is if both probes do not make contact with your body. Then you'll likely get shot instead. Taser is always backed up by lethal on the street. Some of my cop friends say they'd rather be shot than tased again. I'd rather take the taser hit. Suffice it to say that neoprene (wetsuit material) will not defeat Taser impulse and metal won't help you either. You can wear thick clothing as well and all that will happen is you'll be hot and tased. Good luck with that. |
There's a formula for arcing electricity that is based from its voltage. I am at a loss to find it with google but I could see 50k volts arcing at least 2"-3". |
