Most recently I have began buying some "tactical gear" with an eye towards training and maybe competive shooting. Maybe I've got some mall ninja in me too. The next piece of gear I'm considering is eye protection. I have done "some" research and as often happens I'm less certain about my choices than when I started. I have looked at some Wiley X products namely the SG-1 and the AirRage. I've read some negative things about the SG-1 e.g. lenses popping out and fogging. Basically I think I need / want something that can be used day or night, will stay secure and wraps around to some extent to give me full protection. I'm a small guy so some choices may swallow my face and look ridiculous. Sorry for the long post but any advice would be appreciated. |
I believe Revision Sawfly glasses are, too. They have a NSN and claim to be on the list: Revision |

I bought some Wiley-X SG1s a while back. I don't like them. The strap has to be snug on my head but that in turn creates pressure on my eyebrow area. After a couple minutes of wear, I have to take them off for a bit. The sunglass arms didn't prove to be much different. The glasses are too loose and wobbly and when I used ear muffs at the range it essentially imprinted them into the sides of my head. Needless to say, I was glad I finally got prescription glasses. They work best. |
