So Im thinking about purchasing the Land verison of te CIRAS from Eagle.. just wondering if the $$ is really worth it? Ive used eagle products in the past and have been happy but man.. $500 is alot of scratch. Looking for some input.. plus the whole sizing thing kills me Im 5'8 and about 185lbs, kinds torn between med and large. any insight before i seal the deal?

Ive seen you scoping out them all on EE. Id like to know too whats the deal with these. The Spartan carrier that one guy has for $275 looks pretty beefy and kick ass

Part of the price is because it is an armor carrier (soft and plate) and another part is because it is quick releasable. You'll need to decide if these are needed features for you.

I have one, and obviously if you know Eagle gear, you know the quality. It's the last vest I'll ever own.

I'm 5'8", 165lbs and have the large. Some of the adjustments are at their minimum for me. I think I could have gotten by with a medium. You could probably go either way as well.

As a general rule, I have found that most USGI armor (IBA, BALCS, CIRAS, etc.) fits best one size smaller than your t-shirt size. If you wear a Large t-shirt, go with a Medium vest, etc. YMMV

I picked up a Large vest off the EE for a real good price.. for the BALCS I will most likey get a medium.. kinda mix it up.

The panels need to be the same size as your vest.

I agree with Stephen, you need a medium.

True. You probably don't have enough torso for a large.

Eagle CIRAS is THE vest.

I'm 5'7", 145lbs. and fit well in a medium with BALCS and plates. It fits too big around the midsection w/o plates, but that is of no consequence because it is useless to wear it w/o plates.

I'm 5'9" tall and weight 165 lbs. I own and wear a Medium Land CIRAS and I've got plenty of room to grow (although I hope to keep weight off).
