Anyone familiar with this jacket?? TAD Predator Jacket I am looking for something like this that I can wear a fleece under in the winter and also as a cooler weather without the fleece. Is this any better then say a Columbia jacket that you would wear with a fleece liner?? OR is the TAd that much better since it is "Tacticool"  Peace Rick |

Follow up, The reason I ask is I am looking to put together a outerwear setup that I can use a fleece jacket in cooler to cold and have a outer jacket over the fleece when it gets super cold, I like to camp in sub zero weather. I have a H20 ECWCS outer jacket that worked well with my Columbia fleece, the fleece that came with the H20 sucked (that's the technical term) so i am looking for good sturdy fleece jacket to go with the H20 outer jacket. There has got to be some military surplus jackets (fleece) that would fit the bill. I have a bear fleece but want something that has zippered side pockets...the bear side/hand pockets has a tendency to lose things when moving about |

Can't say enough about my Ranger jacket from TAD, very warm but breathable, a little hard for me to get used to the side pockets being up high but that is good as they don't interfere with a gear belt you may be wearing. I just picked up the predator jacket also, it should be here next week, maybe I will get to test it and my ORC Soft Shell Trouser Level 5 pants with all the rain

Beyond is doing a re-work of there line up to make some changes and to add some new items. They will also be coming out with a goretex jacket in the near future. The great thing about Beyond is they give you all the custom fitting you need and you can add /subtract pockets that you want. Their customer service is some of the best around. If you purchase an item and it doesn't fit like you expected, they'll take it back and send you out the correct item that fits. Good folks to deal with. I'm waiting patiently for the goretex jacket to come to production. |
TAD makes some pretty sweet looking stuff. I've been bugging one of their guys about the anorak they made a while back. It was a prototype that they sold on USN. It was so flippin sweet but they're not going to mass produce it. They are coming out with one, but it sounds like it'll be a completely different design, probably more closely resembling the other jackets they make.

Have not seen it yet..I have emailed the reviewer there on advice on a few things (support his website if you can) and he still states they have good stuff... I like it...my Predator is out for delivery today, I hope it pours down rain tonight so I can test it...

I have some of their stuff and bought some for my g/f. I like it but their "cold fusion" jacket is about good for a chilly spring day, not the 20 degrees or whatever it is they claim. It's worth ordering from beyond tactical because they delete the lameass logo. |
not many that i can remember. it's simply because i have limited time to spend doing reviews, so i only choose products that i'm interested in or am pretty sure i'd like. so, since i only choose what i like, you'll see mostly positive reviews. i've turned quite a few products that i wasn't interested in. i don't get paid for my time and effort, so to spend the time writing a review on a bad product that i'll never use or aren't interested in isn't something i like doing. i'd much rather spend it with family or doing other things.  that being said, i'm always honest in my likes and dislikes about the products i feature, and try to present enough information (and good photos) so you don't have to rely on my opinion (as it's just based on my limited experience), but can make your own decisions on whether those products will suit your needs. |
