| I know this is kind of a noob question, but is there a significant difference between MOLLE and PALS type webbing? Are they compatible? |
They are compatible...there was an explanation here a while ago that said something like PALS is the actual webbing and MOLLE is the name of the entire system...or something to that effect. |
PALS is the correct acronym for the webbing. MOLLE was the first system to officially be adopted that uses the PALS webbing. |
|
Pocket (pouch) attachment ladder system refers to the method by which accessory items are attached to a base (vest, pack, etc.) MOLLE was a load carrying system developed in the 97 timeframe for the USMC and subsequently DoD wide. Usage has become so commonplace that the distinction has been lost that MOLLE WEBBING is used to describe PALS and vice versa. in short in answering the question, if something spec'd is PALS compliant, then it should be compatible irregardless of the mfg. or the platform. If the webbing is spaced 1" apart with bartacks sewn approximately 1.5" on center throughout the webbing, then you should be good to go. EGG |
