I have one. Its good for KISS rig but i am not sold on the kydex inserts.  It seems you really have to tighten the rig down(more so than on my other rigs which have shock cord) or it will ride up when you do reloads.

just got done using one in a rifle/pistol class and it worked out well.  I would reccomend it for a KISS rig

The existing mag pouches have kydex inserts?  I might just go with a plain molle rig and put on my own (non-kydex) mag shingles.  The DBT short shingles look good.

Could someone send me or post a pic of your setup for reference please.

Thanks,

Jim

The inserts will loosen up slightly if you leave mags in them for awhile.

Nice rigs.  Here is one nect to a Rhodesina rig for comparison sake.

I think these are a great value.  I added an Eagle med kit to mine and keep it in the trunk.

I find the FB pouches a tiny bit too deep.  I drop a Lego into the bottom of the pouch to raise the mag up a bit.  Other than that, good to go.

I went with the Eagle Universal chest rig, got it from Triad.  Which, BTW, came really quickly.

I removed the RH radio pouch and sewed horizontal strips of webbing (made from the radio pouch strap) to form a MOLLE-type panel.  Then, I mounted a Kabar large TDI knife there.

Fitted a Bladetech Glock 17/22 holster inside the first RH pouch and tied it into place with 550 cord (which will work for any of the 17/22/19/23/26/27 pistols just fine).  Still allows carry of up to six ARmags, while putting a pistol on the chest rig where it's pretty easy to get to, especially while seated.

If you can safely store it with a pistol already in place, then grabbing it and a rifle puts you with a good bit of kit in an easy method to carry it all.  Not much of an existence load, but a small ruck can carry that stuff.

I found that the mag pouch flaps really secure the 19/23 size mags well.  17/22 ones work good too, but not as much of the flap to stick to the velcro backing.  I never bothered to check for different size pouches (flaps, really) as I already knew what pistol I would use with it.

Couple of pistol mags, light and multi-tool, and some extra stuff in the inside flat pouch finished it off.  The LH radio pouch is still in place, I use a radio in there or a few medical supplies.  Haven't decided if I will remove it to add a larger pouch or not.

Liked it so much I got another, in a different color.  Works great as a roll-out kit, etc.

Your modifications sound very much like the SKD Eagle Universal chest rig.
